2016 is the 6th year of the Waldo Farmers Market. The Market features USDA Certified Organic and other sustainably grown vegetables, meats, eggs, cheese and honey, plus artisan breads, jams, spring transplants, flowers, herbs and sweet treats produced as close as 1 mile from the market and up to no more than 100 miles away. Vegetable and meat vendors are required to be USDA Certified Organic or members of the Kansas City Food Circle and abide by their farmers’ pledges to grow and/or produce food sustainably.
The market is one block east of Wornall Road on 79th St. nestled in a grassy, treed area between the parking lot of Habitat for Humanity's ReStore and the Trolley Track Trail managed by the Kansas City Area Transportation Authority, both hosts to the Market. This location, with the address of 303 W. 79th St, is convenient for after-work stops, shoppers on tight time schedules, bikers and walkers using the adjacent Trolley Track Trail and neighbors out for a stroll.
The market is very kid-friendly and welcoming to pets on leashes. SNAP/EBT will be accepted starting in June with a matching amount provided for fruit and vegetable purchases. A substantial portion of vendor fees are donated to Habitat for Humanity’s ReStore.
Thank you for choosing locally produced organic food.
We look forward to seeing you at the market!
